Original Composition for Harp, Flute & Viola of 5 to 8 minutes

Entry Fee - $30, US dollars (Check or Money Order to DTMF)

1st PRIZE: The Susan and David Hirsch Award of $2,000 (US) & publication by Fatrock Ink Music Publishers of Los Angeles, CA, USA. World premiere by The Debussy Trio.

2nd PRIZE: Publication by Fatrock Ink Music Publishers of Los Angeles, CA, USA.

RULES FOR ENTRY

  1. Work(s) should be 5 to 8 minutes in length (single or multiple movements).
  2. Entry should be submitted as professional quality printouts. SCORE & PARTS REQUIRED.
  3. Composer's name must not appear on the entry score. A sealed envelope with name, address, phone number, e-mail address and résumé should be affixed to the title page. A current legal facismilie of composer's identity required: U.S. Citizens, Driver's license or birth certificate; Non-U.S. Citizens, Passport.
  4. Works must not have been previously published, performed or recorded.
  5. Composers: Please indicate in writing with your résumé whether you are under exclusive contract to a publisher or whether you are free to have your winning composition published by Fatrock Ink Publishers of Los Angeles, USA. This is NOT a factor in the judging.
  6. Winner(s) [if applicable] must supply a computer disk of composition (Finale preferred, Sibelius or pdf accepted) to Fatrock Ink which includes composer's name on the first page along with dedication as instructed in publishing contract.
  7. For return of scores, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope. Winner(s) will be notified in writing on or before February 15, 2009. The winning work(s) will be premiered and performed by The Debussy Trio.

Entries will be judged by a panel of professional composers and members of The Debussy Trio. The decision of the judges is final. No winner may be declared if in the opinion of the judges the compositions are not appropriate for programming by The Debussy Trio and/or the level of composition is not suitable for publication.
